As the school year begins again, parents will have to not only think about what their kids are doing at school but how other kids are interacting with them while there.
At many schools across the country bullying has proven to be a growing problem. The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office is working to prevent that in our area with their anti-bullying initiative.
The sheriff’s office is giving out 500 free copies of “Cyberbullying, Our Children Our Problem” to any school that requests it. The video covers subjects like how parents and educators can recognize when a child is being bullied and how they can help.
The sheriff’s office has talked to local school resource officers who have said bullying isn’t a big problem in this area. The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office hopes to keep it that way. Email Janet Vickers @ 540-586-4800 X 4044 for a copy of the video.
