The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office will begin its Citizens Police Academy class beginning Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the Sheriff’s Office for ten weeks. Topics covered in the academy are search and seizure, criminal investigations, traffic stops, juvenile laws, the Va. Justice System, and the role of the Sheriff’s Office in the community. These classes are not designed to make citizens police officers but to educate and enhance the awareness of citizens on the many functions of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.
