At 7:00 Tuesday morning, a Bedford County Sheriff’s deputy observed a motorcycle traveling east on 460 being driven at a high rate of speed. The deputy turned in attempt to stop the motorcycle; however, the operator refused to stop and led the deputy on a pursuit in to Campbell County. The motorcycle failed to stop for the stop light at the intersection of 460 and Wildwood Drive and turned onto Timberlake Road still being operated at a high rate speed. The motorcycle continued to the area of Waterlick Road and then crossed over and traveled back in the opposite direction, traveling west in the east bound lanes of Timberlake Road. The motorcycle then got back on 460 traveling west in the east bound lane against the flow of traffic. Approaching the intersection of 460 at Turkey Foot Road, the operator lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a vehicle at the intersection.
