On Wednesday September 26, 2012, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting that an unknown white male, bald with grey hair on the sides, approached a 13 year old girl at her bus stop around 7:30 a.m. The male made certain references to his home and asked her if she would like to accompany him there. The male was wearing a sweat suit and was on foot.
As the analysis proceeded, investigators, utilizing the Virginia state sex offender registry, identified Donald Dove as a possible suspect. On Thursday afternoon, investigators from both Campbell Co. and Bedford County Sheriff Offices arrested Donald Dove, age 68 of 421 Rogers Drive, Evington, Va.
He has been charged with the following; (Having been convicted of a sexually violent offence), unlawfully enter or be present on property, school bus stop, used by public or private schools.
He was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Bedford and is being held with no bond.
