On August 4, 2017, Investigators with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (SOVA-ICAC) began investigating a case involving the solicitation of Child Pornography. A 15-year-old child victim living in Bedford County was solicited online multiple times by a suspect using Facebook Messenger. After multiple search warrants were executed on the electronic service provider, 23-year-old Bobby Matthew Fisher of 2243 Bedford Highway, Lynch Station, VA 24571 was found to be the suspect.
On August 10, 2017, Fisher was arrested in Gretna, VA by Investigators assigned to the SOVA-ICAC Taskforce from Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office and Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. Simultaneously Investigators assigned to the task force from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and Bedford County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the Lynch Station residence. Fisher has been charged with six felonies, three counts of Solicitation of a Minor to Produce Child Pornography and three counts of Use of Communications Device to Facilitate Certain Offenses Involving Children. Fisher was being held with no bond.
