On 12/15/2012 Deputies responded to 1833 Joco Lane in Moneta in reference to a subject who had been assaulted, and upon arrival deputies found a man with a severe laceration to the neck. The victim and several witnesses described that an altercation had ensued between the victim and another subject at the residence identified as Jamie Ellis and during this altercation; Ellis cut the victim’s throat. Ellis had fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. The victim was evaluated by rescue personnel and flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment. Ellis was later arrested at a separate location as he attempted to force his way into a residence. Ellis was taken into custody and transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail where warrants for Aggravated Malicious Wounding and Interfering with Property Rights was issued. Ellis is held without bond.
