The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Supervisor Dooley, Commonwealth’s Attorney Wes Nance, ACA Tim Griffin, Chief Jack Jones, Assistant Chief Seth Mowles and Assistant Chief Janet Blankenship for attending the very solemn ceremonies at the sheriff’s office yesterday. We regret that other members of the county administration and board of supervisors could not be with us to honor all of the brave and heroic law enforcement officers who, without a second thought, gave their lives while protecting the ideals of our great nation and the citizens who we pledge to protect.
There are no adequate words to describe the enormity of their commitment to public safety. We owe them as well as their families a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. In this regard, the men and women of your sheriff’s office exhibit these same brave and heroic propensities almost daily in their efforts protecting you and yours during their 12 hour, and often longer, shifts patrolling the highways and byways of our county.
Additionally, the prayers offered by a representative number of Boys with a Dream, as they circled the Memorial Dogwood, was spiritually uplifting and a lasting tribute to the men and women who wear the badge!
