To The Citizens of Bedford County and Town:
As a great number of you already know I am running for reelection as Sheriff, Bedford County, this November. With this in mind I am again respectfully and humbly asking for your vote! I am looking forward to another four years as your sheriff and will, as in the past, continue to develop projects that enhances the safety and security of each and every citizen of this county while pursuing regional, state and federal grants that takes the financial burden of paying for these programs off of the backs of our hard working citizens.
A few of the grants that we have received, at no cost to our tax payers, are: ballistic vests for our deputies, computers that are used in the investigations of sexual predators that target our children, overtime for deputies for DUI enforcement and speed suppression, alco-sensors and dash cameras for our vehicles, mobile data units for the patrol cars, SROs for the schools, 3 deputies for gang unit (we have seen an increase of gang activity over the last 5 years in the county), special safety and security equipment for the court house, forensic equipment for Investigations, mobile document scanners for investigations, camera equipment, computer monitors for deputy’s room, large screen displays for dispatch calls, tactical team ballistic shields, laptops for SROs, PowerPoint projector for SROs, keyless entry system for BCSO building, reverse 911 system
I have several projects that I will be developing over the next four years and I think you will be excited and pleased when I preview them for your information and review. One in particular should have your full support as it deals with the training of wounded, injured and ill veterans in high-tech computer forensics and law enforcement skills, to assist in the fight against online child sexual exploitation. Upon successful completion of the program these veterans will have the knowledge, skills and experience to apply for careers with federal, state and local police agencies, and other organizations, in the field of computer forensics. This training will be funded by a grant and will give these Wounded Warriors a second chance at living an almost perfect life style… considering their injuries. It has been my honor and pleasure to serve the citizens of Bedford County for the last 19 + years and I look forward to another four years as your sheriff.

Thank you
Sheriff Mike Brown
