Forest, VA – On Tuesday April 23, 2013, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspicious activity at the Fink’s Jewelers, 16960 Forest Road. After receiving this information, investigators with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Lynchburg City Police Department, VA State Police and agents with the A.T.F. set up surveillance on the business.
At 2:20 p.m. today investigators observed a maroon Nissan Altima with North Carolina tags in the area of Fink’s. A black female got out of the car and went onto the Bank of the James, 17000 Forest Road. After dropping off the female, the Altima with two black males parked in a nearby business parking lot. As the female exited the bank she walked in the direction of the Altima. As she approached the car the driver drove away at a very high rate of speed, leaving the female standing in the lot. Officers pursued the vehicle onto Forest Road then onto Enterprise Drive. Due to the heavy traffic in the area at the time, contact was lost of the Altima, however it was located a short time later in the Wyndhurst area. The vehicle engine was still running and the passenger door and trunk were open. Investigators held and identified the black female. Both suspects were last seen running toward Lynchburg City.
Suspect #1: Black male, 6’ tall, wearing a black and red cap, blue jeans, white shirt.
Suspect #2: Black male, blue jeans, black shirt, wearing a Charlotte Hornets cap.
The investigation continues and charges are pending on the female.
